A Complete Directory of the Best Wedding Caterers in Southwest France
03/01/2025As part of our ongoing mission to connect couples with the finest wedding suppliers in Southwest France and beyond, we're excited to present our next carefully curated list. This time, we’re looking at exceptional wedding caterers. Having worked alongside many talented culinary professionals during our time in the French wedding industry, we understand just how crucial the right caterer is to creating an unforgettable celebration.
From intimate château affairs to grand celebrations, the food and drink service plays a pivotal role in your wedding day. After all, this is France – a country where gastronomy isn't just sustenance. It's an art form. Whether you're dreaming of a traditional French feast, an innovative fusion menu, or something completely unique, finding the perfect caterer can be the difference-maker in making your wedding genuinely unforgettable.
As with our previous directories covering wedding planners, entertainment professionals, and florists, we've compiled this list based on both firsthand experience and stellar industry reputations. We've had the pleasure of working alongside some of these caterers at various venues across the region, while others have earned their spot through consistently excellent feedback from couples and fellow vendors.
Caterers for Weddings in Southwest France
So, without any further delay, let’s jump right into our top picks and recommendations for wedding caterers in Southwestern France. Some of these outfits are local operators known to us personally, or others that cover weddings right across southern and central France. Some specialise in specific cuisines, while others deliver the best French fare on offer.
1. Le Chef Impeccable
First up on the list is someone’s work we’ve seen firsthand. Le Chef Impeccable, or Jean-Marc Braham to give him his proper name, is well-regarded in wedding circles and has been featured in Vogue France, Rock My Wedding, and Style Me Pretty to name just a few notable publications.
He works as part of The Impeccable Pear team, an outfit that handles wedding planning, wedding styling, and wedding catering. However, many couples hire Jean-Marc and his team directly for catering only, as was the case for the wedding we worked at Château de Siradan, where we supplied one of our large canvas stretch tents and festoon lighting.
He offers his own unique twist on traditional French regional cuisine and can supply your food for all aspects of your wedding day – from the cocktail hour right through to the three-course meal and pièce montée French wedding cake. He can also offer live cooking stations and oyster bars, which we think are great conversation starters during cocktail hour. One of his latest outings saw him preparing Oysters from Arcachon with Tabasco or red wine vinegar and also cooking shallots and Bayonne ham.
We also recommended checking out Chef Impeccable's Instagram to feast your eyes (pardon the pun!) on the incredible hors d'oeuvres he can create for your guests. You can also book a tasting session and work together to create a truly bespoke wedding menu that is right up your street rather than choosing from preset options – not something all wedding caterers provide.
With over 15 years of experience and our firsthand experience, we recommend adding Jean-Marc and the rest of the Chef Impeccable team to your shortlist.

“Thank you for a truly unbelievable and wonderful weekend. We absolutely loved it. We are taking home memories to last a lifetime. Food, canapés, desserts, BBQ everything was exactly what we had hoped for and more.”
2. Gaudefroy Réceptions
Another wedding caterer operating in Southwestern France we’ve had the pleasure of witnessing in action is Gaudefroy Réceptions, with whom we shared a wedding event recently at Château Robernier.
They’re a large company that offers catering to all kinds of events, not just weddings. With respect to their wedding offering, they operate as a full-service caterer, meaning they’ll handle everything from that first welcome drink to settle any pre-ceremony nerves to a small savoury buffet for those who manage to dance their way through until dawn the next day. You are even provided with your own Maitre d’Hôtel!
That’s not to say that you don’t have customisation options, however. Their team is more than happy to work with you to design and deliver an event-wide menu that reflects your preferences. In fact, they will hold several meetings and tastings (including a visit to your venue) with you to ensure everything is spot on before D-Day.
So if you’re looking for a caterer that will handle everything under one roof, these guys are an excellent choice.

“We loved working with Gaudefroy for our wedding. As we live outside of France, they were flexible with letting us do the tasting a year in advance and followed up with video chats. Everyone raved about how good the food at the wedding was, we loved it! Everything felt super special and not only did it look beautiful, it also tasted amazing. Jennifer, our maitre d', went above and beyond to make our day as special as possible. We had some last minute weather changes and she worked really hard to make everything go smoothly for us. Thank you!”
3. Châteaux Cuisine
If you’re hosting a smaller wedding (around the 50-guest mark) in the South of France, we’d recommend checking out Châteaux Cuisine. Based just down the road from us near Bergerac, Alicia Watson is a gourmet chef who we’ve heard amazing things about from one of the wedding planners we work with (Perfect Day by Karen). While we’ve nearly crossed paths a couple of times, it hasn’t happened yet. But we’re soon to see her work up close and personal.
Alicia boasts over 20 years of professional experience cooking as a chef in restaurants, private households, châteaux, chalets, and villas. For weddings, she can offer you a variety of services, from full-blown reception meals to sharing buffets and canapés. Her focus is on sourcing and cooking with local, fresh, and seasonal ingredients, which is perfect if you're looking for an authentic French menu to match your surroundings.
She’s also a great fit for those events in and around the wedding, such as the pre-wedding meal the night before, or the day after brunch. Just look at her recent grazing table arrangement for a recent pre-wedding event at Château La Robertie. We think you’ll agree it looks absolutely incredible!

“Dear Alicia, we can’t thank you enough for all the wonderful meals you’ve prepared for us – really exceptional. You are also just lovely to have around and the full service you offer is fabulous. We will be using you again. With many thanks and lots of love, R&K”
4. La Sauvagière
If you’re one of the millions of vegan and vegetarian couples out there, then you might be interested in partnering with a specialist caterer for your French wedding. That's precisely what’s on offer at La Sauvagière, a 100% vegan catering operation run by chef, author, speaker and all-around vegan expert Claire Brachet.
She offers her gourmet catering services to weddings, with everything served guaranteed to be homemade, organic, and in season. Claire puts a strong emphasis on local produce (as you would expect) and her 100% plant-based menus are more often than not vegan versions of traditional French dishes. However, she can be flexible and provide fusion dishes, with Japanese cuisine as one of her additional specialities.
Another plus point for Claire is that she is a vegan wine expert, so there will be no problems pairing your wine with your menu! We love her mini burgers and her all-seed canapés called “seed-eaters”, which offer you seed bread, seed pâté, and sprouted seeds. They look utterly delicious, and you can have a look at them over on her Instagram page.

“We hired Claire for our wedding after looking for vegan caterers for our French wedding. From the get-go, she was attentive and made designing our menu and wines a breeze. At the wedding, we were in awe of the dishes she prepared, from the reception meal to the dessert, it was fireworks for our taste buds. Thank you Claire for preparing these culinary wonders for us!”
5. Roland Paix Catering
One of the best-known caterers in the South of France is Roland Paix. They’re a family-run company, now on to its third generation and over 40 years of operation. Based in Provence, they are the go-to options for many couples getting married in the South of France. In fact, dozens of châteaux will only partner with Roland Paix, such is their reputation, and they have total exclusivity on seven venues in and around the Provence region.
We’ve had the pleasure of seeing them in action at a recent wedding event we worked at Château de Sannes (one of their exclusive venues), and we have to say we were nothing less than impressed. They didn’t just produce wonderful meals but everything ran like clockwork and they offer a very premium feel.
Each wedding is provided with a bespoke menu that you’ll work with their team to bring together, and, where possible, it will reflect the locality in terms of produce and seasonality. Make sure you check out their Instagram page for wedding menu inspiration. We love the little summer salads they do, as seen recently at Bastide Saint Julien.

“My husband and I hired the Château de la Garde for our wedding which is run by Roland Paix. They were absolutely incredible from the first day. Accompanied by Lisa who project managed the entire day and preparations - she was amazing. The food was incredible on the day – especially the gazpacho with goat’s cheese ice cream. We had the duck as the main course which was amazing. The service, food and attentiveness Roland Paix gave us was incredible. Thank you very much Roland Paix for your service – you went above and beyond.”
6. Chef LeClere
Chef Eric LeClere is another highly sought-after caterer and can offer all kinds of services to couples. He’s just as comfortable providing a poolside BBQ the day before the wedding as preparing and delivering several course wedding reception meals. We first met & worked with Eric at
He will work with you directly to understand your tastes and preferences, and he also offers tasting nights where you can sit down and try his most requested meals throughout the wedding season. It’s a great way to try a variety of cuisines and see which you like best.
While his background is in traditional French cuisine, he also specialises in BBQ/American Southern food and fish dishes. The breadth of his culinary talents makes him well-suited to international weddings and destination weddings. If you fall into that category, take a look at his recent work at an American and traditional Indian wedding celebration held at Chateau de la Couronne. Mouth-watering doesn’t do it justice!

“Eric and team did our wedding at Chateau de Monciaux. From the start, Eric was so helpful and responsive. Nothing was too much trouble for him from vegetarian meals, assisting with crockery/cutlery, letting us design our own menus etc. Everything was so great on the day. Food was very delicious and flowered perfectly. Eric and his team removed all the stress so that we could enjoy the day. Staff were all really friendly and attentive. We could not recommend him highly enough!”
7. The Hog King Catering
Philip, or The Hog King as he’s known in the local wedding scene, is a long-established caterer based in Limoges. Welsh in origin, he’s been offering his (and his wife’s) culinary services to weddings in France for just over 10 years now and there’s no doubt that he’s the first name on the list if you’re looking for a hog roast to be served at your French wedding.
But don’t let the name fool you. Philip and his team offer all kinds of food and cuisines, including canapés for your cocktail hour and continental breakfasts for you and your bleary-eyed guests the morning after the party. They can even offer bespoke wedding menus as long as what you want is in season. And despite appearances, the Hog King also offers comprehensive veggie and vegan options.
We feel that The Hog King is best suited to rustic weddings, exclusive-use château weddings, or dry-hire wedding venues, where you have free reign to create your own ambience. He offers a more laid-back approach to catering without losing any of the professionalism or high standards. You can see this sort of wedding celebration for a recent wedding event they did in Creuse, South West France, on their Facebook page.

“We chose the Hog King as it fitted in really well with our relaxed wedding style. We had the hog roast along with some vegetarian/vegan options and a salmon (which was really good!). It was all really delicious and our guests had a great time - Phill is really helpful too and accommodating to try and meet any additional requests you have.”
8. Earl Les Fromentaux
Last up we have Earl Les Fromentaux, who deliver something unique in the fact that they cater in true farm-to-fork fashion. Based on a farm on the outskirts of Châteauroux (Celon), Sue Manning and her family rear Limousin cattle and Texal x Betax sheep and offer wedding catering services under the English name Farmhouse Kitchen Catering.
They use their homegrown meat combined with carefully curated local produce and suppliers to deliver awe-inspiring menus to weddings across France. They will work with you directly to create a bespoke menu and actively welcome challenging and diverse menu requests. Again, despite the name and background all dietary requirements including vegan can be catered.
What we like about Sue and her team is that they are super flexible, so they can take you through all elements of dining, from the minute you arrive at your château for your big celebration from canapés to starts, mains, desserts, midnight munchies, and the morning after the night before, they’re able to handle all aspects. And did we mention cakes? Sue offers traditional English-style tiered wedding cakes too!
We thoroughly recommend checking out their Facebook page to get some inspiration for your wedding menu.

“We hired Farmhouse Kitchen Catering for our wedding and I can't compliment them enough. Sue was supportive with any questions I had for her (which was a lot) she always replied in a timely manner which really helped my nerves not coming from France. Sue agreed to cook everything I wanted for my wedding weekend. Nothing was too much for her, she's such a talented lady. Her food was AMAZING, all my guests couldn't praise her enough especially the pies. Her staff were terrific, hard working, friendly and professional. They couldn't do enough for us. If you're getting married in France or in need of catering you'd be a fool not to choose these guys!”
Where To Hire Catering Equipment for Weddings in the South of France
While many of the providers above will bring their own equipment to help them prepare delicious food and drink for you and your guests, smaller operations or chef-only caterers may be reliant on what’s available at your wedding venue. Some châteaux and similar locations do have commercial kitchen equipment, but others don’t – meaning you may need to hire some additional equipment.
While there aren’t a whole host of companies to choose from, below are a couple of recommended suppliers.
Loca Cuisines
Based just outside of Toulouse, Loca Cuisines offer rental of all kinds of commercial catering equipment. Their inventory includes all kinds of cooking, cooling, and ware washing devices.
However, with regards to weddings, you can hire whole container kitchens. These shipping containers are decked out with everything a chef might need to prepare dozens of meals at once. They are customisable, too, so you can hire a scaled-back one with only the equipment your chosen caterer needs.
The only consideration would be access, as these containers would arrive on the back of a lorry and some wedding venues would not be able to support the delivery of a container kitchen.

AM PRO
Another outfit offering catering equipment rental for weddings is AM PRO, led by Antonio Moreno who has over 30 years experience in the commercial equipment industry. Based near Troyes, they both sell commercial kitchen equipment or offer rentals for special occasions. Their inventory includes everything you might need including fridges, freezers, cooking hobs, ovens, fryers, dishwashers, grills, percolators, etc.
So if you only need a few specific items of commercial catering equipment for your wedding, these guys might be better suited.
