Sound, Lighting & Staging for Outdoor Wedding at Château Mader, Bassin d'Arcachon

In June we supplied full sound, lighting and staging and a dance floor for an English couple's wedding at Château Mader on the Bassin d'Arcachon. They wanted to dance outside, so we built a complete outdoor production that looked elegant by day and delivered a proper party atmosphere once the sun went down.

Staging & Dance Floor Setup

We installed an 18ft by 14ft black and white checkerboard dance floor directly on the outdoor surface. Next to it we built a 4m wide by 2m deep stage using four staging panels, finished with black event carpet on top and a high-gloss acrylic fascia board across the front for a clean, professional finish.

Lighting Design

Eight Showtec Sunstrips were mounted across the back of the stage on Doughty tank traps. We added 300-watt hybrid beam effects and a Unique hazer to create that atmospheric party feel in the evening, plus 400 metres of festoon lighting and wireless battery-powered uplighters around the venue for warm, cable-free ambiance.

Sound System – Main Dance Area

For the main dance floor we used a d&b Y-Series system — a pair of Y subs and Y7P mid-tops powered by two D80 amplifiers, one kept as backup. A Midas M32R desk ran the show with a Nord Stage 3 88-key keyboard. The band and singers were covered with eight Sennheiser G4 in-ear monitors and four Shure UHF-R SM58 wireless handheld mics.

Sound System – Poolside Cocktails

Earlier in the evening we supplied a separate smaller d&b E8 sound system positioned around the pool area — ideal for the cocktail reception in that beautiful waterside setting without overpowering the space.

Working at Château Mader

Working at Château Mader meant coordinating multiple zones across a scenic outdoor layout, with the poolside cocktails flowing naturally into the main dance floor and stage area. The couple got exactly what they asked for — a stunning outdoor dance floor backed by reliable sound, lighting and staging that performed perfectly from the first dance to the last song.
