We recently had the pleasure of working here for the first time, and one thing that immediately stood out to us was how far removed you felt from everything, despite being in the middle of the village of Siradan. As a couple celebrating here, you will really feel as though the place is your own for the duration of your celebrations.

Celebrate Your Marriage at a Historic French Château in the Pyrénées

Perhaps the first thing you will be struck by as you make your way up the winding gravel driveway is just how historic the château is. If you’re a history buff looking for a bonafide château, then this is the venue for you, with the original building dating back to 1649. However, while the exterior delivers that historic pre-revolutionary charm, the interiors here are anything but. 

The owners, Andy and Kate, have spared no expense renovating this place, and everything from the furnishing to the bathrooms looks and feels brand new. With modern features such as reversible heating and Wi-Fi combined with luxurious soft furnishings, the interior really does belie its storied past. 

Externally, you are treated to sprawling grounds of several acres, with plenty of space for outdoor wedding celebrations, should you want to go down that route. There are internal wedding spaces, too, with a formal dining room boasting a capacity for up to 40 seated guests and a further flex room that you can use as a dedicated party room for up to 40 seated guests. Upstairs, there is on-site accommodation for up to 24 guests in the château’s stunning guest and bridal suites. 

The outdoor celebration capacity is much higher at 100 guests, and there’s plenty to do across the six-acre private park, including taking a dip in the heated outdoor swimming pool. There are also hikes and biking routes starting not far from the gates – so no one is likely going to be short of things to do!

Of course, as stunning a location as this is, the question still remains of how you bring it to life. The venue only provides a bar as far as technical infrastructure goes for your wedding; implementing the rest of your wedding vision is up to you, your planner, and your wedding suppliers. 

In our recent working brief here, we provided the outdoor space for the celebrations. We supplied and installed a 15 meter X 10 meters stretch canvas tent which features open sides and can comfortably seat around 100 to 120 guests, which fitted perfectly within the capacity limits of this particular venue.

We supplemented our installation with our signature oversized festoon lights, which look simply stunning during the “golden hour” when the sun starts to set. We also supplied and installed the complementary luxury coconut matting flooring to provide a better surface for guests underfoot. There was a slight challenge with this particular set-up, as some of the tent was on grass, and around a third of it was over gravel. But we’re used to dealing with these sorts of requests and setting everything up without issue.

It provided a great outdoor space for the couple and their guests to enjoy their celebrations, protecting them from the elements and the unpredictable mountain weather without detracting from their incredible surroundings.
