Fête24 Supplies Sound System, DJ Equipment, and Lighting for Wedding Near Aix-en-Provence
07/10/2024We recently teamed up again with Samantha & India over at Best Events Co. to supply sound, DJ backline equipment & lighting to a stunning new venue (for us) in the Aix-en-Provence region.
The venue in question was Château de Sannes, situated in the rolling hills and vineyards of the Luberon National Park. Just a stone’s throw from the charming town of Pertuis, this place is almost hidden from view behind the glorious vines that produce the château’s well-regarded wines.
It was the perfect setting for the French/American wedding for which we received the call. So, let’s explore the venue, what we provided, and how it contributed to a fantastic wedding event.
Château de Sannes: One of Vaucluse’s Top Wedding Venues
Before we get into the work we undertook here, it’s worth spending a few more moments on this incredible venue. The first aspect you notice on arrival is just how vast the estate is, covering dozens of acres, which are mostly filled with vineyards. However, there are incredibly ornate formal gardens, a beautiful, historic pond with stone surround, and a more modern swimming pool and terrace well suited to rest and relaxation.
The château itself is full of old-world charm while still boasting modern features. Several dedicated event spaces perfectly capture the property's character, with large exposed fireplaces, stone archways, and wooden beams complementing the stone tile floors.
The venue also distinguishes itself through its catering offering. The team there have partnered with renowned caterer Roland Paix to deliver first-class dining options to couples and their respective guests. However, other wedding suppliers are left to couples or, in this case, wedding planners to organise.
But enough about the venue, as incredible as it is. Let’s talk about our job as directed by the wonderful team at Best Events Co.
Fête24 Provides Technical Wedding Event Production Services to Wedding in the Provence Region
OK, so let’s provide a bit more detail about this event. We were primarily responsible for the technical infrastructure for the evening entertainment, which was hosted in one of the dedicated event rooms & outdoor event spaces.
We provided the sound system, DJ equipment, and a lighting package for the main wedding party (in the old barn) & we opted for a d&b audiotechnik Q series PA system as sound was very important to the client & the effortless sound you get from the Q series ticks all the right boxes. We then supplied a pair of Pioneer CDJ2000NXS2s and a DJM900NXS2 DJ mixer as per the DJ’s rider.
The installation was complete with the addition of a black DJ booth to keep everything from view and create a professional look. A beautiful floral arrangement was placed in front of the booth , which was a lovely touch… Of course, we weren’t finished there, though.
To create a visual spectacle alongside the sound, we mounted four of our hybrid Helix LED lighting effect fixtures on Gravity lighting stands around the room to deliver maximum coverage of the lights. We even included a small haze machine to complete the overall look & of course a haze or smoke machine massively helps improve the look & effects of any light(s). The Helix’s looked brilliant and covered the whole room with ease (you can view a video of this on our social media), and they looked even better after darkness fell and the party got started!
On the Friday night we supplied a pair of Bose S1 pro wireless speakers for the arrival dinner which took place on the just out the back of the main Chateau, the purpose of this setup was to provide background music for the guests & to allow the bride & groom to give a welcome speech (we supplied a wireless handheld Shure SM58 for this)
On the Saturday morning the arrival dinner PA system was packed away & we install the outdoor ceremony PA system by the large pool again just outside the back of the Chateau, for this setup we use a pair of RCF 732A speakers with a pair of handheld Shure UR2 wireless mics controlled via Allen & Heath ZED10 mixing desk.
Next up we installed a sound system for the evening dinner under a 28m x 12m sail tent. We set up a black DJ booth with a Pioneer XDJ-ZX DJ controller. After that, we installed the same PA system used on Saturday morning with an additional pair of 15 inch active RCF subwoofers which easily covered the entire tent with background music & for dinner speeches .
On Sunday, we packed down everything from the previous day and were ready for the pool party installation. We supplied a white DJ booth and a Pioneer DJM900NXS2 mixer with a pair of CDJ2000NXS2s. When we finished setting up the DJ equipment, we installed our d&b Audiotechnik Q series sound system which consists of a pair of 18 inch Qsubs with two passive Q7 loudspeakers mounted on K&M stands which easily provided sound for the whole pool area.
Only positive feedback received from both the couple and the team at Best Events Co, and we look forward to returning to work at this incredible venue again.
