Fête24 Provides Full Technical Event Production Services to Surprise Birthday Party Event in Médoc

In May this year, we supplied an extensive event production package for a surprise party at a leading restaurant in the Médoc region. The venue was the highly regarded Restaurant Le Saint Julien, based in the namesake Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, near Pauillac.

We had quite a varied brief for this one, spanning various event equipment and production hire services. So, let’s not waste any further time and jump right into our work on this lovely occasion. 

Full Sound, Lighting, and Backline Hire Package Provided to Private Birthday Party near Bordeaux

Firstly, it’s worth making another quick mention of the venue, which is a stunning building with lovely stone arches and a covered outdoor terrace (where the majority of the guests were seated).

When we arrived, the first task was to set up the backline equipment hire package booked for this surprise birthday. Kicking it off was a Nord Stage 3 88-key keyboard, our custom DW collect series drum kit, and five ways of Sennheiser G4 in-ear monitoring for the live band. 

The next job on the docket was setting up the sound hire. Since the performance area was quite small, we opted for a setup that delivered maximum punch for minimum footprint. 

That resulted in using the d&b audiotechnik Q series setup. We paired Q7 speakers and Q subwoofers with a couple of M4 stage monitors for the lead singer. We then mixed everything through the Midas and M32R with the DL32 stage rack – special thanks to Aiden from Easy Help for stepping in at the last minute and doing a fantastic job mixing sound for the event.

Small Lighting Hire Package Provided for Birthday Party in Médoc Region

With barely time to catch our breath, we were straight onto the lighting element of our production package. We started with the performance area, which we supplemented with a pair of our hybrid helix lighting fixtures to deliver a bit of extra “pop” to proceedings. 

Next, we placed several of our LED uplighting fixtures around the restaurant's main room and set them to emit a light golden shade that complemented the stone walls really nicely. And that was that! We packed all the carry cases up and quickly hurried out of the way to avoid being spotted by the celebrant (this was all a surprise, after all!).

We’re pleased to report that the event went perfectly, and we received lovely compliments from the event planner, the band, and the birthday client themselves! We also devoured some of the best steak and chips we’ve ever had.
