Fête24 Delivers Custom LED DJ Booth and Complete Technical Production for Private Event in Cannes

This past spring found us on the glamorous French Riviera, providing a comprehensive technical production package for a private celebration in Cannes. While we're perhaps better known for our wedding event production work across Southwest France, it's always exciting when we get the opportunity to bring our expertise to these exclusive events on the Côte d'Azur.

The brief called for a complete audio, lighting, and staging setup that would create the perfect atmosphere for what was clearly going to be a very special celebration. Having already established ourselves as specialists in high-end private events across France, we were excited to bring our full production capabilities to this French Riviera celebration.

Custom Staging Platform and Precision Lighting Create the Foundation for a Riviera Celebration

Our setup for the evening began with the construction of a custom 4000mm wide by 2000mm deep staging platform, positioned at 300mm height to provide the perfect elevation for the evening's entertainment. We finished the entire stage with crisp white carpeting and clean black fascia boards, creating that polished, professional look that's essential for this calibre of private event.

The lighting hire package we created featured 8 Showtec Sunstrips mounted on T traps around the venue, providing that foundational wash lighting that creates atmosphere without overwhelming the space. These fixtures are brilliant for private events because they deliver exceptional colour mixing and brightness while maintaining a sleek, unobtrusive profile.

We then complemented the Sunstrips with 4 of our 300W hybrid LED moving head lights that were positioned in and around the DJ booth to provide more of a visual spectacle around the “action” zone. 

What made our lighting setup particularly user-friendly was our decision to control everything through a WolfMix lighting controller. This meant the DJ could seamlessly integrate lighting changes with the music without needing any additional technical support from us throughout the night. Just a few minutes of demonstration from us was all it took for him to get comfortable with it.

The centrepiece of our audio setup was undoubtedly the custom black DJ booth, which we designed specifically for this event. Hidden behind the sleek black cloth exterior were a pair of Pioneer CDJ2000NXS2 CD players paired with a Pioneer DJM900NXS2 mixer, which was exactly what the performing DJ had requested on their technical rider.

But what really made this booth special was the integrated 75-inch LED screen, which we configured to display custom visuals throughout the evening. Seeing "Maia" illuminated on that massive display really brought home just how personal and meaningful this celebration was for everyone involved.

For the main audio delivery, we deployed our trusted d&b audiotechnik Q series PA system, comprising a pair of Q7 midtops supported by a pair of Qsubs for that deep, rich bass response that's so crucial for dance music. We rounded out the sound hire package with a Shure handheld wireless microphone for the DJ to use and for announcements.

The event ran smoothly from start to finish, with all our equipment performing exactly as expected throughout the evening. It was also great to see our custom booth design work so well in practice, and the integrated screen technology really added that personal touch the client was looking for.
